Directions: The reserve is west of U.S. 101 near the
hot springs resort of Orrs Spring, 11 miles northwest of Ukiah
on Comptche Road.
Weather, clothing: The weather can be changeable; layered
clothing is recommended.
Trip notes: Montgomery Woods State Reserve, in the
heart of the Coast Range, has 700 acres of redwoods, where visitors
can walk along one of the park's many trails. The reserve is
one of the most remote redwood parks. This day-use only park
also features picnicking and a two-mile self-guided nature trail.
