Trip notes: Westport-Union Landing State Beach is on
the Mendocino Coast and features two miles of beach. The park
is popular for ocean fishing and picnicking. Tidepool explorers,
abalone divers and spearfishing enthusiasts also enjoy the beach.
The northern Mendocino coast is remote, beautiful, and gets far
less people pressure than the Fort Bragg area. That is the key
to its appeal. The campsites are on an grassy ocean bluff, relatively
sheltered from coastal winds.
