Trip notes: The Pinnacles National Monument is like a different planet. It's a 16,000-acre park with volcanic clusters and strange caves, all great for exploring. This is one of two campgrounds at the Pinnacles, and don't get the two mixed up. This is the more primitive of the two, and far less visited. Does the shoe fit? If so, come prepared for hot weather and the chance of meeting up with a rattlesnake, and bring plenty of ice in a cooler to keep your drinks cold.
