Trip notes: D.L. Bliss State Park borders Emerald Bay State Park to the north. The park also has popular hiking trails, such as the Lighthouse Trail and the Balancing Rock Nature Trail. The beach is especially popular during summer months. The park is set on one of Lake Tahoe's most beautiful stretches of shoreline, from Emerald Point at the mouth of Emerald Bay on northward to Rubicon Point, spanning some three miles. The camp is located at the north end of the park, the sites nestled amid pine trees, with the lake about a quarter mile away. A trail from the camp is routed south to Emerald Point (6,232 feet), where there is a beautiful view of the lake and beyond to the surrounding mountain rim, an awesome sight in early summer when it is still covered with snow.
