1869, the building underwent a major renovation that restored
much of the Capitol's original look. Many of the original offices
including the governor's and secretary of state's, have been
completely restored and are open to visitors. There are 40 acres
of gardens in the surrounding Capitol Park, including trees from
around the world. The Vietnam Veterans' Memorial is also on these
grounds. The building features exhibits and tours - and possibly
an opportunity to watch the legislators debate and bill or cast
a vote.
