Boy Scout Troop 325 Scoutmaster Minute

Winter Scouting

As each of us prepare for winter sports, whether the Ski Trip with the troop or Bear Paw, of if you go skiing with your family-you need to ask yourself are you prepared for what can happen.

We who live on the coast are not; necessarily ready to face the rigors and dangers of snow sports and travel, so take you time and think about it.

You are responsible for your own preparations of course. It does no good if all your prepared materials are in your buddy's pack, if you are not with them!

You should be aware that if you are using your ten essentials, something has gone very wrong. We hear each year how people get lost driving or skiing in the snow.

They survive, or sometimes don't based on how well they prepared for the unexpected.

Also, very importantly, know what you know and know what you don't know and get trained!

Thanks for listening.
