Boy Scout Troop 325 Scoutmaster Minute

The Best Laid Plans...

Andy Duprey, Scoutmaster

Tonight you have had the opportunity to see examples of both planning and trouble shooting.

Everything you ate tonight-the good the bad and the ugly was planned, shopped for and cooked by scouts.

They argued with each other and some of them learned that it is a lot easier to say "let's cook_________" than actually do it.

Some of the scouts forgot things on their list, and had to make do.

Some of the scouts didn't know they needed something until they went to cook it, and had to make do.

The lesson of tonight is simple

Planning well will make your project go more smoothly.

But the unexpected will also happen. As Bobby Burns said in 1785 "the best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men Gang aft agley".

The better you can plan and the better you can deal with reality and problem solve
