Boy Scout Troop 325 Scoutmaster Minute
November 3, 2009
Andy Duprey, Scoutmaster
Humility is that quality of putting others above you, and of serving behind the scenes. Doing good when no one is looking. I was driving Kale to see his Grandfather the other day, when I was struck by what I saw at the southeast corner of San Tomas and Moorpark
Craig Morrison and his dad were watering.
Many of you will remember Craig. He is an Eagle Scout from this troop, who was in cubs with my older son AJ and they joined the troop together.
They grew up together, often running in the same circles, sometimes in the same classes at Lynhaven, Monroe or Del Mar.
Through all this you felt blessed if Craig gave you two to three sentences strung together, but he always seemed to understand what needed to be done and he did it.
Craig's eagle project was to clean, paint and renovate the garden area at the water company pump house at that corner.
Some of you helped him, I know my family did, and we took lots of pictures to prove it.
But that was a year ago now, why is he watering at the corner?
There is no more badges to be earned, no recognition to be gained. He has earned his Eagle
Craig is, apparently, simply doing the right thing and is not worried about whether or not anyone is watching him.
He is simply doing good.
Thank you Craig!
Good night scouts.
