Boy Scout Troop 325 Scoutmaster Minute
April 28, 2009
Andy Duprey, Scoutmaster
I have seen many each of you interact with each other over the years, and, while I have been generally pleased with your interactions, I've not always been pleased.
I have seen boys pushing, shoving, teasing and annoying each other, not often, but it happens. I don't like to see pushing and shoving, and the Patrol Leaders, and Senior Patrol Leaders will continue their work to stop this, supervised by the adults. What I am most concerned about, however is teasing. Teasing because of a name, or religious affiliation, is never ok, and is not friendly, courteous, kind nor cheerful.
I have not seen bullying in the troop, but want you to be aware of what it is.
Bullying is any behavior that is deliberate, hurtful, and/or repeated over time.
If you feel teased, or bullied please come talk to me or another adult.
Thank you,
And good night scouts.
