Things To Ponder

December 5, 2006
Larry Polyak, Scoutmaster

Tonight, I thought I'd give you something on the lighter side to think about. I hope none of these questions keep you awake at night like they do for me.

- If nothing ever sticks to Teflon, how do they get Teflon to stick to the pans?
- Do all cemetery workers like to work the graveyard shift?
- If fire fighters fight fires, and crime fighters fight crime, then what do freedom fighters fight?
- How is it possible to have jumbo shrimp?
- Why do toasters always have a setting so high that it could burn the toast so bad that noone would eat it?
- Why do they report power outages on TV?
- Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?
- Why do we get IN a car but ON a placne?
- Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
- Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
- Why do we park on a driveway, and drive on a parkway?
- Why do slim chance and fat chance mean the same thing?
- Is there another word for synonym?

And finally...
- Why is there a light in the fridge but not in the freezer?

Thanks for listening.
